    I cannot run executable files from my home folder. I just double click it and it doesn't do anything. Any help?

    Assuming you have set the permissions properly, you may also need to
    go into the menu on your file manager to tell it what to do when you
    double click on files. In gnome (nautilus) it is edit-->preferences
    and something similar if you use KDE.
