    eth1 is missing

    Hi,

    I notice one of my network interface (eth1) is missing. When i do a ifconfig, it only shows eth0. Previously there is an eth1 as well.

    I tried issue a ifconfig eth1 plumb, i still don't see the eth1. I tried re-assigning the IP - ifconfig eth1 X.X.X.X netmask X.X.X.X, also I dont get the eth1, but got the following error:

    SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
    eth1: unknown interface: No such device
    SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
    SIOCGIFADDR: No such device
    SIOCSIFBROADCAST: No such device

    Is there a possibility of hardware is faulty?

    Any advice? Thanks?

    What does this output:
    Code:
    dmesg |grep eth1

    Do you happen to see both cards in the output of
    Code:
    lspci

    It's possible you have a hardware problem. What are your answers to the questions posed by jayd512 and Irithori previously?

    Missing eth1 as well

    I have 64 bit Redhat.

    Ran lspci and saw this entry;

    0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)

    Also checked network-scripts;

    more network-scripts

    *** network-scripts: directory ***

    Thanks
    John
