    Given, that you have a valid (ie: paid) subscription and the machine is registered with the RedHat Network:
    Code:
    yum update
    You must always face the curtain with a bow.

    Do you have an active Red Hat subscription?

    If not, then you cannot update using Red Hat's repository. In that case you can point to a CentOS repository, or RPMForge.

    i dont have active RH subscription.

    how can i point to a CentOS repository, or RPMForge.?

    Why bother? Just install CentOS.

    Isn't the point of installing RHEL to get enterprise support/updates? If you aren't paying, then whats the point?

    Thank u very much sir,

    but

    the given URLs are not working(32-bit) it shows
    404 error found
    and i checked in google more than 3 hrs and finally i got it............
    the URL is
    //vault.centos.org/5.2/os/i386/CentOS/
    {simply add "http:" before this}

    hi sir,
    After doing this process, I type a command "yum update" in terminal then it shows the follwing error

    Loading "installonlyn" plugin
    Loading "priorities" plugin
    Setting up Update Process
    Setting up repositories
    Could not retrieve mirrorlist ://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5&arch=i386&repo=os error was
    [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
    Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base


    (i dont have permission to post URLs, thatswhy i deleted http in front of URL)

    what do i have to do?
    please help me..........
