Disk size on Red hat
Hey all,
Just starting to teach myself Linux this week and have been stuck on trying to expand my disk size. This is my first time using Linux heavly so I am mainly looking for good guides or sites to teach me.
My main issue is I am trying to install some apps to my VMWare Red Hat but when i transfer them over I run out of space. I am hugly confused as to what I need to expand the size off. Is it the Root folder/partition? I know I will need to make the /tmp bigger to take the install files (over 1 GB) but dont know how.
As this is a VMware I just went to the setting of the vmware and increased the size but this change did not reflect on the system when i bootted it back up. I have been reading and can see i need to use fdisk to change the size and partitions but cant find a clear guide as to what I need to do? There should be 50GB of space assinged to the system but I cant see where they are?
Please help!
