Xorg display issue in RHEL 5
I need urgent help on resolving this issue. We recently moved to RHEL 5. It uses Xorg. Today I had difficulties connecting to a projector for a presentation. I searched on the net and changed /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to add another screen. However it did not work. I did not back up the configuration file before changing. Now that I am trying to revert back, it does not seem to be working. It shows a blank screen.I can see the cursor, can move it on the screen but cannot do anything on that screen. However the system seems to be running fine. I can access command line through ctrl+alt+f2-f8 . I can run the command ps aux | grep Xorg and see that it is running. I can invoke setup and change X configuration settings. However, despite all this when I killall −9 Xorg, it restarts and again does not show me anything.
The logs in /var/log/Xorg.* do not show any error messages.
Has someone faced this problem before ? Any resolution to this problem will be huge help to me.
Thanks in Advance,

What video hardware are you using? Also, post the contencts of /etc/X11/xorg.conf here.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Have you tried "X -configure" yet? have you tried booting into runlevel 3 and then running "startx"?
