Fedora 15 DVD Install (Unable to find file x,y,z)
Hello,
Before I explain the problems, this is my rig:
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Intel Core i5 2500K
Gainward 570GTX Stock
64bit Fedora Version
Samsung 160GB SATA 2 HDD. Plugged into SATA 2 port.
(This is what I'm trying to install it on to)
I've tried burning the disk on multiple computers. Using TDK disks, Imation disks etc etc. Speeds ranging from1x - 4x.
Each of these DVD's come up with the same error, multiple files, but cannot find the file.
I've installed it on my laptop with no worries, but it wont work on my main PC. Which is what I want to use it on.
Tried installing via net install, dvd etc etc. But same error.
Tried installing using my Blu-ray burner/reader. And my samsung dvd reader. Both internal. Also both connected to SATA 2 ports.
All drivers are updated etc etc.
So the error:
Mainly: The file x cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file, a corrupt package or corrupt media. Please verify your installation source.
I hit retry, installs for a while, then a new file has the same problem. I managed to get to the end of the install process (this took a really long time) and then it froze.
I've also had the error "unable to find medium containing live file system"
Also, the media check passes.
Tried downloading the files from Fedora's website. My ISP's mirror (mirror.internode.on.net) md5 passes as well...
Both tried 2 - 3 times.
What I seem to think it could be - too new hardware. The chipset was released only in May this year AFAIK. But Ubuntu and Debian both install fine. Mint as well, but that's really an Ubuntu distro...
Haven't tried any others though. I prefer Fedora over any others
So any help would be greatly appreciated, but at this point I am really out of ideas.
Thanks in advance!
