    Thumbs up RHN is not registered

    I was installed Red Hat v5 in my VMware. While I am trying to install a package it was showing your OS was not registered to RHN. How can I overcome that problem?. Moreover where the downloaded software's will be stored by default (in which dir).

    a) you can buy a subscription from redhat and register your system.
    b) you can try one of the redhat clones, like CentOS, or better Scientific Linux. You dont have to pay for these.

    Hello ,
    You can install the Packages by configuring a yum repository with rpm files from the CD /DVD .
    Create a .repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d/
