I don't use Gwibber, so I can't help there.
Firefox has a built-in download manager. If you're looking for further functionality, you could look at FlashGot.Jay

Kget gives much more control over the downloads.

Since you're looking for something like Kget, and want the functionalities of it, why not just use it?
Other than that, I suggest trying out various download managers and see what they have to offer.Jay

So you have installed KDE? And still can't install Kget?
Kget isn't part of the Fedora project, and never has been.
Kget is the default download manager in Konqueror..Jay

Then honestly, Googling and trying different managers is going to be your best bet.

Kget is part of the kdenetwork package on most distros.
