    I don't use Gwibber, so I can't help there.

    Firefox has a built-in download manager. If you're looking for further functionality, you could look at FlashGot.

    Kget gives much more control over the downloads.

    Since you're looking for something like Kget, and want the functionalities of it, why not just use it?
    Other than that, I suggest trying out various download managers and see what they have to offer.

    i have searched for kget on fedora as much as i could. but all in vein.

    So you have installed KDE? And still can't install Kget?
    Kget isn't part of the Fedora project, and never has been.
    Kget is the default download manager in Konqueror..

    Since I hate to much heavy graphics so I got gnome on fedora 15

    Then honestly, Googling and trying different managers is going to be your best bet.

    Kget is part of the kdenetwork package on most distros.
