Hello and welcome aboard!

The default kernel for CentOS 5.6 is the 2.6.18 release. I'm unable to say what the install options are for CentOS as it's been too long since I last installed it, but perhaps someone more up to speed on it will reply.oz

I know I've installed fedora using just the first 2 CDs, I don't know about CentOS. Are you able to just try it, and if you can't, then oh well?
