AFP file sharing with Mac and firewall
Hi,
I installed netatalk and avahi on my Fedora 15 to make file sharing between my Mac snow leopard and PC. Even though my linux machine can show up on OX Finder sidebar, I always get the "connection failed" message unless I turn off firewall on Fedora.
My question is if I want to have file sharing between Mac and Fedora while having firewall on, what kind of configuration do I have to do on my Linux machine?
Another question is if I want to disable netatalk and avahi, what are the commands to do so?
Thanks a lot.

The firewall is setup by default to allow outgoing connections only. If you want to allow your MAC to connect you need to find out what ports these programs are using and allow them in, i.e., configure the firewall to allow those incoming ports.
