Smartphones and Linux
Lets assume that we have "5 inch smartphone" with 2 USB port, where we can connect keyboard and mouse in each port.
I am trying to understand what it will take to compile Linux and boot up on smartphone in exactly similar manner as normal PC?
Obviously, the hardware architecture of smartphone is different than normal PC, but there should be a way to boot up! (After all Android uses Linux Kernel and boots up on any smartphone).
Does any linux package exist to add "GSM functionality"?
I am a novice, so all information appreciated
Essentially I would like to see Fedora running on my smartphone

Hello and Welcome!
While I've never done it myself, I can give a few thoughts.
First, you'll need to find out what processor type you are using. ARM seems like a good possibility, but definitely double/triple check to be sure.
After that, you can search for info on porting Linux to that architecture.
From what I've read about it, you're really gonna be in for a helluva ride!

Debian has several ARM versions available. Flashing it to your phone might be tricky, but maybe not.
