RH EL5 with SAS 1068E ctl

    Hi,
We bought a PowerEdge R410 with RH server6 and a SAS 1068E ctrl.
I have to install a RH EL5. I downloaded the Dell RH 5 driver for this controleur, installed the rpm (dkms) on a other PC, and I have created, with "dkms mkdriverdisk" the xxx.img file, and installed it on my floppy. But in the img file, there are not the pci.ids and modules.pcimap files, and i can see, when the install ask me a driver disk (linux dd), in the console :
    cannot find /tmp/drivers/pci.ids
    cannot find /tmp/drivers/modules.pcimap
Many tests with LSi drivers, but same problem....
is some people had this problem?
    Best regards
    Philippe
    (Sorry for my english)

I don't see a SAS 1068E, as such, in the R410 configuration options. Is it the SAS 6/iR controller?

For help with this, you may want to subscribe to and post on the Dell linux-poweredge mailing list:
    Linux-Poweredge

It's very active, and a number of Dell Linux engineers respond regularly.

RH EL5 with SAS 1068E ctl

    Hi,

    and thanks Mudgen.
I agree with you, it's a SAS6/IR ctrl. I followed your idea to subscribe on the Dell linux-poweredge mailing list and already sent my question.
    Best regards
    Philippe

Yes, I saw your post on the list. Although it's generally a very active list, Fridays and weekends can be a bit slow, so have patience. I think I've seen previous posts about the 6/Ir on the list. It appears to be a "certified" configuration, so I'm surprised there are not embedded drivers for it in RHEL. We've moved over from Dell to HP servers for new deployments, so I have not encountered this card personally.
