Direct Booting of a Virtual Machine?
Hi,
Basically i want to run virtual machines, but i want to boot directly into them bypassing the host system. I know XenServer can do this, by installing Xenserver and then installing XenClient. But iam not after a Virtual Machine Server, so running it over a network is unnecessary.
I decided to run Oracle Linux 6 as the host because the Xen website suggests RHEL is a good kernel choice (dom0 aka host) and because i recently re-installed OL6 as my main OS, meaning i can convert the second OL6 to a virtual host. The software Oracle offers at install for virtualisation is already installed on what will be the Virtual Host.
Can someone please provide some more help as to what i need to do next? I have been reading the Xen website but i am feeling a little overwhelmed and lost.
. I have the lastest Xen source tarball and i also have the Xenserver.iso. But i am not sure if i need either of these.
Thanks
