    ATI Catalyst Driver Problems!

    Hi,
Ok so i recently update my Oracle Linux from 2.6.39.100-12UEK to 2.6.39.100-15UEK.

The update went fine, but the catalyst driver which was installed (which i am pretty confident is Version 11.9) used in the previous kernel doesn't work on the recent update. It causing large tearing and an overall laggy desktop!

Here is where my frustration begins, excuse my rave for a second:
    1) The catalyst driver NEVER uninstalls properly, just by simply running ./fglrx-uninstall.sh or ./amd-uninstall.sh . In fact the ****ing driver has be RE-INSTALLED and UN-INSTALLED 2-3 TIMES before the older or new driver version will be recognized at not shown as the version that was just un-installed. (It doesn't matter if you did a custom or automatic install, SAME RESULT)
    2) I have done this for catalyst driver versions 11.6, 11.7, 11.8 and 11.10. So all in all i have re-installed and un-installed catalyst drivers at least 15 times today. And the great part is that none of them work! They all result in tearing and a laggy desktop.

I can't try 11.9 because AMD has decided to not provide the driver for whatever reason. I have the catalyst driver versions 11.5 & 11.4 already downloaded, but honestly i can't be ****ed to go through the rigmarole of it all. This also means i can't just role back to the previous kernel because the catalyst driver that did work for that kernel version isn't available (despite the fact i can easily boot the older kernel).

If someone knows a solution please tell me! I'm about to explode!

Don't worry, i fixed the problem... I was using their beta repository and so the kernel i was running obviously isn't compatible yet with the ati catalyst drivers. I disabled the beta repo, and re-enable the base (stable repo). Installing the latest stable kernel, and did a yum distribution-synchronization, so everything works fine now.
