dvd and bluray command line utilities - what is out there?
I am looking to rip (to iso), various DVD & Blu-Ray disks in my collection to single iso files.
I want to do this with a simple bash script that I pass the device name and it will rip the file.
Question 1)
What command line utilities exist out there for doing this?
Question 2)
What rpm repos do I need to add in order to get them (via yum install <package>
Question 3)
Are there any dedicated sites (forums / email lists) out there for ripping CD / DVD or BluRay under Linux that I could read from time to time (that are active/popular forums that have been around for a while).
Question 4)
I have heard that I need DeCSS in order to rip a DVD, where do I get this (which repo, how to add the repo on my CentOS system and what to type to get it).
new at this, but think I am on the right track and any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
J.V.

I haven't tried it since I don't have a Blu-Ray device, but this seems to be helpful: Blu Ray Ripping Linux How To | Don't Hurt Your Head!
Note that the MakeMKV software is commercial software. I don't know if you can use it for free on Linux, but they do have a 30 day trial period for their Windows and Mac versions. In any case, the link I provided will give you full instructions on what to do. Also, I'm not sure, but you may also have to install the libbluray and libbluray-devel packages on your system. The faq doesn't mention them, so you may not need to in order to build makemkv.
BTW, this tool doesn't rip to an ISO image. You would need to convert the mastroika (mkv) files to a suitable format first. There is other ripping software for Linux, but all that I have found will not deal with copy-protected (commercial) blu-ray discs, which I think that makemkv will.
Final note (edit) - this is not a command line tool...

Ok. After installing makemkv, I find that it does have a command line too, makemkvcon, which may do what you want. Also, I see that it has a 40 day eval period when I click on the help->about menu entry in the GUI. FWIW, I think the cost is $50USD. It appears to rip DVDs as well as ISO image files.
