    Wireless disconnects abruptly (fedora 16 on hp Probook 4430s)

    Hi,

    I have installed fedora 16 on hp ProBook 4430s.
    Wireless connects initially but once I place http request over a browser it disconnects and continuously ask for password for re connection.

    following is the result for lspci

    [
    lspci | grep "Network controller"
    24:00.0 Network controller: Ralink corp. Device 3592
    ]

    Please let me know what steps should I have to take.

    thanks in an advance

    I've only seen behaviour like this when I've been at the absolute limit of the wireless network's range. As it's bringing the device up in the first place, then the wireless device in the laptop is set up and functional.

    Try moving your location a little closer to your wireless device and see if makes any difference - and review what obstacles are between you and the wireless point.

    It could also be, as vich00ss suggests, that the credentials you're using to connect to the wireless network are not being accepted. What kind of encryption does it use?
