RedHat is commercial.
Afaik, you can get a free 30 day trial from redhat.com | The World's Open Source Leader after you register.
If you donīt need commercial support and/or the brand, then you can use a RedHat clone such as CentOS or Scientific Linux.
Btw, the newest version is 6.2You must always face the curtain with a bow.

Ok thanks. But they only provide RHEL 5.7 Server. They do not provide RHEL 5.7 Client. I see that there are RHEL 5.4 Client and RHEL 5.7 Servers. Hmm I do need a link to download RHEL 5.7 Client

The "client" version is called "desktop".
I do not have a redhatnetwork login anymore (I am using CentOS), so I cannot see if the Desktop also has a trial.
But my guess is: yesYou must always face the curtain with a bow.

I too don't have a RHN anymore, but I see on their public FTP server that Red Hat has releases called 6Client and 6Workstation (along with 6Server, of course).
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/
CentOS does not break it down so clearly, they just have one install DVD:
Index of /centos/6.2/isos/i386
When installing with it, I guess you can select which type of install you want. I don't honestly know, even though I use and install CentOS on a regular basis, b/c I used automated kickstart install scripts that do it all for me.
I'm not familiar with ScientificLinux, but it appears to be similar to CentOS:
ftp://ftp.scientificlinux.org/linux/...c/6x/i386/iso/

I have an active RHN account, but don't see a 5.7 Workstation download there. 6.1 is all I can get to.

Sorry, was away for the weekend break.
Now i still dont understand.
For version RHEL 5.4 there is a 5.4 server and 5.4 client. I am sure because I have both versions.
As per per previous post they have the same thing i presume for version 6 client
and version 6 server.
what about version 5.7 ?
Also i do not see version 5.4 client and 5.4 server separate download for the ISO at the rhn download site.

Well, it used to be pretty simple to get to their mirror sites and download whatever you wanted. Not so today it seems. If you don't have to have Red Hat branded software, then there are two serious clones that you can use which are 100% built from RHEL source code, CentOS and Scientific Linux. You can get CentOS from www.centos.org - The Community ENTerprise Operating System, and Scientific Linux from Scientific Linux - Welcome to Scientific Linux (SL). I have used (and still use) both. My employer uses RHEL for our production servers, but we do a lot of engineering work and pre-production testing on CentOS. My personal workstation/server and laptop at home run Scientific Linux.

Indeed. If you have an up-to-date support contract with Red Hat, then you should be able to contact them about this and get the ISO image files directly. If you don't have a current support contract, then moving to CentOS 5.7 or Scientific Linux 5.7 would not be unreasonable.
