How to increase ext3 / partition

    Hello Friends,

    I have a query like:

since rhel is already installed with ext3 type partition.
Just added drive/Lun and want to increase the / partition.
since my / is ext3, so how can we increase it.

    Thanks-
    Shankar

Use parted. With an ext3 partition, you can expand forwards but not backwards, so you will need to have some empty space on the drive after your root partition.

    Hi,

Yes but my scenario is when we don't have space left on disk and added new disk/LUN.
we can also increase when LVM filesystem will be there but here is ext3 filesystem.
