Getting Grub to boot on either disk of a mirror.

How do you get grub to boot from either disk of a mirror. I have Raid 1 set and it works. I can even shutdown the machine and boot from one drive but not the other yet. THey have identical partitions. Is there a way to make grub on both drives first try to boot from hda1 and then hdd1? Thanks.

There is a fallback as well as default setting that can be placed in /boot/grub/grub.conf

    check out :- http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/man....html#fallback

    for a description.

Use Suse 10.1 and occasionally play with Kubuntu
Also have Windows 98SE and BeOS

I will have to use this and search for specifics on it. I have had 41 views of this post and only you replied. WOW... Thanks for the direction.
