What is the best way to get clamav to scan emails?

    Hi all,

I've installed CLAMAV and I would like to get this software scanning all incoming and outgoing emails.

Honestly, I'm not an experienced linux user!!!
I've been googling this topic and I've found some links on the clamav-milter.

Sadly, the installation instructions (file INSTALL) in the "clamav-milter" folder, included in the clamav software are not too clear to me.

I couldn't follow such steps, my linux understanding is not good enaugh thought.

What is the easiest way to get it to work???

Any suggestion or good link would be highly appreciated!!!

System: Redhat 8.0, sendmail, spamassassin, clamav

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi

I use MIME:efang (http://www.mimedefang.org/) which can integrate SpamAssassin / ClamAV and others into a milter driven Anti Spam / Anti Virus solution. It works well once configured. (Also check the SpamAssassin site for (I think) a wiki and related info)

If you check out the page above there are some howto's and links to documentation and examples. Also OReilly's SpamAssassin (ISBN: 0-596-00707-8 ) is a good newbie intro to the topic.

    Hope that helps

    Spook
