SMTP Error
Hi There,
I have a mac machine with thunderbird as email client. when i am using it in my offie it works fine for both sending n recieveing emails. However when i try to send emails from my Home, it gives me smtp.xxx.com is not responding, try agian later, however i am able to recieve email. We have postfix on redhat.
Please suggest.

Talk to your IT guys at the office.
It sounds like this smtp server is simply not available via public internet.You must always face the curtain with a bow.

You probably need to set Thunderbird to use your own ISP's SMTP server when you're at home. I use the SmtpSelect add-on with Thunderbird, and put the button on my toolbar. That makes it easy to change from your work SMTP to your home SMTP.
