Fedora 16 kworker using 35% to 45% when cpu should be basically idle

Out of seemingly nowhere my cpu usage is 35% to 45% and the 'culprit' is kworker. I have tried all three kernels I have available at boot and it remains the same with each.

This is disappointing. My fan runs constantly. i have a Compaq Presario cp-56 with a Celeron 1.9 Mhz.

    This is very puzzling.

    thanks,

The gnome-shell-extension-systemMonitor is not enstalled. I am not getting the excess usage anymore. It is baffling.

I have no idea what was the culprit/reason.
