    Cannot Accessing too large file


    Whiling Accesing the Oracle file of taking backup it states the error that "Value too large to access the data type" Could any one give me a solution.

    Really need more information.

    Which application are you using?

    And what is this file exactly? Is this a backup of an Oracle database? Or something else?

    And how are you accessing this Oracle file?

    This is not a standard Oracle error message. Please advise the complete error message you received, and as LibraOne asked, what Oracle utility were you running when you received this message?

    fat 32 limitation

    this may have something to do with the file size limitation of a fat 32 system which is 4 GB. I had to create a ext2 partition to store large backup files.
