    clamav: cdiff_apply failed

    Hi all,
I have been tearing my hair out for a while trying to figure out this issue with ClamAV: basically every nightly run (and when running 'freshclam' manually as I did to generate the below), it keeps erroring as follows:

    Code:
ClamAV update process started at Thu May 10 14:49:00 2012
    Connecting via 10.10.10.200

    Downloading daily-14906.cdiff[*]
ERROR: cdiff_apply: No digital signature in cdiff file
    ERROR: getpatch: Can't apply patch

    Giving up on db.gb.clamav.net...
... etc. So it looks like ClamAV is attempting to download and apply a patch but is not succeeding because it's not a CVD file; does anyone know what file it is it's complaining about? How can this be rectified?

Once ClamAV has gotten over the above "moment", it proceeds as per below and seems to work OK.

    Code:
ClamAV update process started at Thu May 10 14:49:11 2012
    Connecting via 10.10.10.200
main.cvd is up to date (version: 54, sigs: 1044387, f-level: 60, builder: sven)

Database updated (1215389 signatures) from db.local.clamav.net
Clamd successfully notified about the update.

Is db.gb.clamav.net the issue? It appears not as having entered "db.gb.clamav.net/daily.cvd" into a browser experimentally, it does respond with a BIN file.

Any assistance or pointings in the right direction would be most appreciated!

Have you posted your question to the ClamAV user forums? They will be much more capable of answering such questions I think. These forums are great for many general Linux questions, but application-specific ones like this are better (I think) dealt with by the groups/organizations that maintain the code in question.

    Hi Rubberman/all,
Unfortunately I couldn't get any joy from any of the forums I tried - however, the error has now suddenly stopped without any intervention from myself, so guess it shall remain a mystery! Thanks for replying in any case.
    Cheers!
