    how to check network activities


    Hi, I want to use my laptop to capture packets going through network interface "eth0"
    I will also use it as a hotspot AP.
    I enter run-level 3
    and then I want to check the network activities
    is there any method for check this?
    and what activities can I stop

    I'm using fedora 16

    According to wireshark's page they have a command line interface. It has been a LONG time since I have used it so I could be wrong. tcpdump works very well as well.
