    Keyboard and mouse dying

    Using Red hat 8.0

Worked fine, then I updgraded some of the hardware (motherboard, CPU and memory)

Now when the unit boots the keyboard stops responding after the KDE is loaded, - it works fine before this. This stops me from logging in, and the only thing I can do is press the reset button, not good!

The drivers for the new hardware need to be installed. You'll need to boot to console rather than X.
BTW ... upgraded SOME of the hw ... what did you keep, just the hd?
