    nope, only tools you can find are in the preferences, system tools and system settings menu. Nothing like a control center so far doesn't exists in Fedora.

    Not really, all is about the same. As far as midnight commander that depends on if it got installed. Hardware, mount (/mnt) are all the same. Once you have used one distro you have used them all..or can..
