    linux architecture


    i have AMD athlon X2 260g processor

    i want to install centos in it

    i checked tat there are different architecture like i386, ix86 ....adn X86_64 ..

    my choice is X86_64 which is the supports 64 bit and 32 bit and my processor also 64 bit

    is there any better architecture thaan this once

    Hi there!

    Most CPUs these days are 64-bit. There are few reasons to lean on way or the other when choosing your distro.
    If you have, or plan on having more than 4 GB of RAM, then 64-bit would be the way to go.
