HI, I downloaded firefox-15.0.1.tar.bz2 onto my Downloads directory.
I unzip the file, cd /home/myname/Downlaods/firefox
and do ./firefox command
firefox starts but the version of firefox if 3.6.3
Can someone tell ...

firefox 15 in fedora14
HI, I downloaded firefox-15.0.1.tar.bz2 onto my Downloads directory.
I unzip the file, cd /home/myname/Downlaods/firefox
and do ./firefox command
firefox starts but the version of firefox if 3.6.3
Can someone tell me how to remove the older firefox version and install version 15.

You have symlink latest version. First of all, cd to Download folder and execute firefox command. Check if latest version works fine or not.
Code:cd ~/Downloads/firefox firefox
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I think I know why I kep getting the older firefox version. I think I have to upgrade my fedora to a higher version first.

Fedora 14 hit EoL in December of 2011. It's repos are now going offline.
Upgrading to a newer version of Fedora, such as 16 or 17, would give you access to newer software including Firefox 15+ via yum.Jay
