Linux PC cannot be accessible in network
We have one Red hat linux server (Desktop Server). Whenever this Server goes sleep mode, users cannot be accessible this linux server from network (Request time out error gets).
During this time if we give ping to this server, we are getting Request time out error.
But, if we physically press any keys in the keyboard of this linux server or browse in the server then users are able to access this server through network.
I checked the settings in Power management & screen saver also. But still i am not able to solve this issue.
Can any one help on this?

Hi.
Why the hell put a server in sleep mode ? A server is made to serve, to be always available.

Hi,
After changes done in the power management, Server is not going to sleepmode. It now always shows GUI desktop screen.
But, after 1 Hr or sometimes it takes half n day this server not responding through network for users. It will work only after pressing any keys in the keyboard (during this time server not going to sleep mode. It wil be GUI mode) or browse in the server. Till that time users are gettting Request time out error for this server.
I have checked the Power Management in BIOS also. There is no such things are set for any sleep mode option.
Note :Past 2 months back this server is able to access in network, even in sleep mode also.
Whether any firewall or any network settings blocking this server to access intermittentely?

Have you replaced a drive? Any chance it was a "green" drive that spins down on inactivity? Same question for the network switch. I'd also check the switch configuration, if it's manageable.
