    Problem installing Firefox on Linux 7.3


    I can't seem to launch the Firefox installer from the Mozilla Firefox CD using Nautilus in Linux 7.3. Absolutely nothing happens when I <double-click> on the installer. Can anyone step me through unlocking the Firefox installer?

    you can download the .tar.gz installer of firefox and then install using terminal.

    Unless you come from the future, you don't have Linux 7.3
    First post the name of your Linux Distribution.
    Do you mean Red Hat 7.3?
    If you do, try DAG's Apt(it still fully supports RH7.3 and has FireFox):

    If you have any questions about Apt, just ask.

    Jens: Thank you for the advice! Yes, you're correct in that I've got Red Hat 7.3; I appreciate the correction. I will try DAG's Apt and see I can get this whole thing to work.

    mbhagwat: I was hoping to avoid downloading the .tar.gz given its size and my slow dial-up connection, which is why I ordered the CD in the first place. However, I will take your advice and try install using the terminal mode. Thanks!
