    RHEL 6.2 Verbose Startup

I am trying to find how to set RedHat Enterprise 6.2 to a verbose start up, where it checks each item and puts a green [ OK ] to the right of it.

I have tried: In /boot/grub/grub.conf, comment out the "splashimage" line. Then, in /etc/sysconfig/init, change the BOOTUP line to say "BOOTUP=verbose".

This didn't seem to change anything though. Also, I would like to make this a permanent solution if possible. I have a few clients that sometimes hang while booting.

    Hi and Welcome !

Remove rhgb and quiet from kernel line of /boot/grub/grub.conf file.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thank you for your quick reply and correct answer! It seems to be working. It does not show the [ OK ] part as I am use to, but it will surely help troubleshooting these hangs.
