    how tro mount


    Team,

    I am new to linux admin.

    I have one request :

    I have two servers, A,B.

    Both have same and below os info.

    # cat /etc/*release
    Enterprise Linux Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Carthage)
    Network Boot Infrastructure 1.5.4 (Virtualization 1.5)
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Tikanga)
    Thu May 26 17:30:49 EDT 2011
    Version: 1.0
    Author : eniklas
    uname -a
    Linux 2.6.18-128.4.1.0.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 4 15:23:10 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux


    what I want is , from server A, I need to mount one dir to server B.

    $mount -t ext3 a:/u01 /u01
    mount: special device a:/u01 does not exist

    both a,b can be pingable each other.

    Plz help me to resolve this issue.

    1 method of many is to install nfs on one box, and mount that exported share. Unless I missed something this should be pretty easy and quick to do.

    Maybe a RedHat/CentOS version of how to setup NFS would be more helpful?
