    VSFTPD Log File


    Hi Friends

    I want to know where to check the logs for vsftpd. i have searched in Google so many people are telling /var/log/vsftpd.log also /var/log/xferlog . But i want to know which is the correct place and where the logs stored

    I'm sure you'd need to be logged in as root to search around in /var/log.

    Mine is in /var/log/vsftpd.log, but in /etc/vsftpd.conf there is the option:

    syslog_enable=YES

    that will send everything to syslog instead. Also there is:

    vsftpd_log_file=/some/place

    and

    xferlog_file=/some/other/place

    that may be set to some non-standard locations.
