    Setting up periodic timer

I have a function that commands a camera to take a picture. I need to add the functionality that a user can specify how often they want a picture taken, ie once an hour. However, I cant use a simple sleep function, because the user needs to also still be able to go in at any time and take a picture manually if need be. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to implement this?

You could probably setup a cron job? Depends on what you mean by "function" though...
