While it might not be available via yum, you can install via tarball: download - awesome window manager

If you're not familiar with installing software from source, see this page for some great help.

It's certainly in fedora 18 and 19, mageia, mandriva, and openSuse.

Cool beans. Do you have a link or command? I haven't used Fedora in a while, so this would be quite helpful.

i see it in the official F18 repos here:

    http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedo...os/Packages/a/

so you should be able to do this:

    Code:
    yum install awesome
it is not in the official F17 repos though.

awesome is also in the fedora 19 repos. Besides the yum command you could find a mirror close to you from the fedora mirror site which you can search for on the net ... this forum doesn't allow me to give you the site because I haven't yet made 15 posts.

You can then download the awesome rpm and any other package with awesome in the title, of which there are a number and install them on your system with the rpm command. I am on a slow dial-up connection which makes this latter method a faster one because yum really needs broadband to work best. It builds up data bases and so does a lot more work than rpm to pull a package in. It does however deal with all the dependencies.
