    changing the HOSTNAME entry

    Hello every one,

When I try to use yum install, I get an error like "Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository", so I searched and realied that I have to change the hostname; I tried to change this file cat /etc/sysconfig/network but when I want to save it it doesn't allow me to do so. But before that, the hostname should be HOSTNAME=fully.qualified.domainname for solving this problem?

I would be really thankful for any help.

"Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository" has nothing to do with the hostname.
More likely are network or repository related issues.

Can you post the complete error in CODE tags?

The error for yum install is:

    yum install libXp.x86_64
Loaded plugins: product-id, refresh-packagekit, rhnplugin, security,
    : subscription-manager

This system is receiving updates from Red Hat Subscription Management.

Well, there is no directory 6Workstation in
    Index of /fedora/
    Hence the Not Found error.

What distribution, version and architecture are you using?

"6Workstation" indicates a Redhat, not fedora.
There is no support for redhat by the given repository.

    But maybe this helps.

In fact I'm trying to work with ANSYS Workbench, and in ANSYS installation guide I see that I need to have a plenty of libraries installed on my machin (none of which is installed yet!). One of them for example is libXp.x86_64 (I even didn't know this library is related to Dropbox!).

I use Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation, Release 6.4 (Santiago).
