Update log for yum
I just finished running "yum update" on my Fedora 19 Linux box. As the messages were scrolling on my monitor, I noticed that there were some errors. I didn't know how to capture those errors (something about not able to download files and accessing mirror sites) to find out if I could fix them. I let the update complete but was wondering if there was anything in a log file that needed attention.
Does "yum update" log errors to a file? If so, where is it logged?

- I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.
You will find the log in /var/log/yum.log, but you have to be root to read it. In any case, your problem is not uncommon, and if it finished the update, then the mirror sites were working. I see this all the time, and unless things are really fubar in internet-ville, it is not something to be too concerned about.Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
