Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On

I've been trying to configure my laptop wlan card for days now.. my laptop is fujitsu-siemes amilo pro 2000, with intel centrino and intel pro wireless 2200bg
I followed the instructions found on ipw2200.sourceforge.net to the letter. But i was not sucessfull in getting the card up and running. 'iwlist scanning' retunrs 'No scan results'
I am getting this 'Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On' in the logs, and when running cat /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw2200/*/rf_kill i always get 2, radio is off by hardware (see this post: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...54#post1395854). I tried enabling it in bios and pressing the wlan button, but no luck. The wlan is working fine on windows xp (dual boot).
Is there any other way to enable the wlan by hardware?

    Hi,

    Did you download the firmware?

    Cheers
