new install, same result, only nvidia.h driver

I just installed Fedora 3 Core, with the same result, stalled ad Configuring kernel parameters. I booted to the rescue disc and only found the nvidia.h driver and obtained no result when I attempted the modprobe and cp commands. Well, except I copied the nvidia.h to where you suggested, but I don't think that's what you intended, and it still hung at the same place. Am I doing something wrong, or is there another problem here?

inactivating the nvidia.h driver does nothing

I inactivated the nvidia.h driver (renamed it nvidia.bak) and tried to reboot, with the same result.
