VMware - Fedora Core 3 - Display Problems

I recently installed fedora core 3 on VMware in windows. Everything worked fine until i decided to change my resolution from 1280 x 1024 down to 1024 x 768. upon reboot the login screen appeared correctly. once logged in the desktop is completely scrambled and unreadable.

i thought maybe there's a way to change the resolution from the command prompt but im not sure how to do it.[/img]

open the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file with a command line based editor, i.e. nano, and find the section labeled screen, under that look for a modeline, which displays all the resolutions you have it set to use, prioritized left to right, you can change it this way, or if you prefer, you can also switch resolutions from X with the keystrokes <Ctrl><Alt><+> and <Ctrl><Alt><->.
