Help with Netscape

I've looked at the 'install.pdf' and it says that Netscape should run automaticly after install, did this hapen?

No, this did not happen!

Within the directroy you installed is there a file that's named 'netscape' or similar?, if to try to run it with:

./path/to/file

replceing /path/to/file with the path to the file (including the file).

Yes there is a file named "netscape" and I tried what you suggest with no luck.And if I try to run it in terminal it just brings up a blank page with a blinking cursor.

I double click on the icon, it brings up a terminal asking if I want to run, cancel or run in terminal. If I pick "run in terminal" it brings up a blank window with a flashing cursor. If I choose the "Run" option the terminal just vanishes and nothing else happens.

Try un-installing it, and installing it exactly as it said in the documentation I linked.

So open up a terminal emulator such as xterm, Konsole in KDE, Gnome-terminal in Gnome, etc. and type

/usr/local/netscape

and post the output you get.
