    No, this did not happen!

Within the directroy you installed is there a file that's named 'netscape' or similar?, if to try to run it with:
    Code:
    ./path/to/file
replceing /path/to/file with the path to the file (including the file).

Yes there is a file named "netscape" and I tried what you suggest with no luck. And if I try to run it in terminal it just brings up a blank page with a blinking cursor.

    Maybe
    Code:
    whereis netscape
And if I try to run it in terminal it just brings up a blank page with a blinking cursor.
    Blank page of what? Netscape?

I double click on the icon, it brings up a terminal asking if I want to run, cancel or run in terminal. If I pick "run in terminal" it brings up a blank window with a flashing cursor. If I choose the "Run" option the terminal just vanishes and nothing else happens.

Try un-installing it, and installing it exactly as it said in the documentation I linked.

    It says /usr/local/netscape
So open up a terminal emulator such as xterm, Konsole in KDE, Gnome-terminal in Gnome, etc. and type
    Code:
    /usr/local/netscape
and post the output you get.
