    Red hat 9 default apache server with no MySQL PHP support?


    Is the default apache server (with the corresponding default php module) that installs with red hat 9 lacking MySQL support?. I am traying to connect to a database using mysql_connect() and I get this error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/html/x3.php on line 9

    I've only installed apache, php, mysql, etc during the base install procedure once, and as I recall, php only has mysql support if you also install mysql... or maybe it didn't even then. Either way, the simplest way to fix it is to just install apache and php from source...
