downloading free software for fedora 3
hi,
anyone know of a good repository for free software other than sourceforge.net to download software for fedora 3.
so who decides as to what/which software goes into the automatic package downloader that comes with fedora project. what are the criteria for becoming part of those packages.
also, so i am kind of confused. Does linux software works on all distributions of linux or some are only geared towards certain distributions.

i just google whatever package i need.
most programmers make different packages for the respective distros (ie rpm for fedora/rh, deb for debian based distros and what not.)
but you can always download the source code for a package and configure it yourself
