    Kernel source could not be found..

    Hi. i'm using Linux RedHat 9 .. my motherboard's intel D865 GBF ..
    i tried installing its sound drivers.. its something .sh file
    i ran it like ... /bin/sh

    and it gave me an error..

    Kernel source could not be found on your system. Please install the kernel source and try again.

    Install the RedHat kernel-source package, and try again
    Also make sure that it is symlinked to the mentioned directories.

    RedHat usually ships the sources with their distros.

    This means that you need to have the Linux src installed on your system to install the sound driver.

    A guess is that the shell script will do a Linux module for your sound card, and to do so, the installation script needs the source of your linux.

    Please, do not just go to and download the latest version, you have to install the source of the kernel you currently is running on.

    I do beleive the Linux source is avalible on your installation sources, so you should be quite simple be able to install it within your RH
