    file system error? [Dead!]

How do I fix file system error? This is what I get when I try to boot Fedora Core 3, /1 contains a file system with errors. check forced.2005

Then I get a prompt for root password. No idea on how to fix the problems. This happened right after I updated everything including kernel packages and restarted.

Can anyone give me any assistance please?

Well I am killing my Fedora box and going to Debian now. See ya off this forum sections ^^

type your root password and then type:
    fdisk /dev/hda1
assuming that's where your / partition is located

Umm that did not do anyting. It said there was nothing wrong with that. It said something about the size and it may cause problem and to write it. I did that and rebooted and it did not solve it. Getting same problem

    Try with
    fsck -f /dev/hda1
(Again, if this is your root partition, else change to your root part)

This will forca a check of your partition, and you will be able to fix some errors as well.
