yum and up2date freeze on FC3
i use proxy..and up2date was freezing untill i wrote my proxy in the System Settings -> Red Hat Network Configuration .. then when the redhat update agent pops up and i press next ..it freezes ..the same happens with yum..i type yum list available and nothing ever happens... i didnt faced that problem when i connect my pc with a non proxy connection

make sure you do it as root in a terminal. hope this helps.Code:yum -y update

up2date always froze with me to. To me, apt-get RPM for Fedora is the best way to go.

thx guys for the suggestions..but i think the problem is with the proxy...maybe the up2date its trying to connect to red hat server but it never gets to the server because of the proxy and that forces the "Red Hat Network" program to freeze
