    Shutdown and restart.


    How can I shutdown or restart my computer using shell(terminal).
    What are the commands?

    As root, poweroff and reboot would do the trick...there's also a shutdown command with a buttload of options. Hit the manpage for it:

    init 0 will shut it down,
    init 6 will reboot.

    Another ways:

    Reboot: shutdown -r now
    Shutdown: shutdown -h now
