First I would like to say I'm new to all this so if my questions in the wrong place just let me know.
I have set everything up using Fedora and I want to listen to my favorite am radio station online. They stream for free. Now whats the best way to get firefox to help acomplish this task? The player site requires mplayer/mplayerplugin-in. I've done both but still dead-air.
any successfull suggestions will help from reverting to a "windows partion".
thank you all in advance.

This way, I don't need Firefox, I just open it with Xine and of I am

When I open it with Xine, I get a Dutch radiostationCode:<ASX version = "3.0"> <Entry> <TITLE>Radio 538 (streaming powered by Garnier Projects)</TITLE> <AUTHOR>Radio 538 = 102 FM</AUTHOR> <COPYRIGHT>Radio 538 Interactive</COPYRIGHT> <!-- <Logo href = "http://staging.radio538.nl/media/logo.gif" Style = "MARK" /> --> <Ref href = "http://ms.stream.garnierprojects.com/radio538" /> <BANNER HREF="http://staging.radio538.nl/media/garnier.gif"> <ABSTRACT>Powered by Garnier Projects</ABSTRACT> <MOREINFO HREF="http://www.garnierprojects.com" /> </BANNER> </Entry> </ASX>

Use your favorite texteditor and create a file called whatever.asx

When you look around on internet for webradio, and click on the "listen now" buttons, you mostly get a blahblah.asx file when using Linux. Save such a file and you have a link to a radiostation.

OR if you're not comfortable creating scripts install mplayerplug-in. This way your firefox browser should play most streaming audio the same way Internet Explorer does through windows.
mplayerplug-in's web site:
