    No problem. Not long ago I stumbled across the breakdown on the man command. It appears that it takes the argument (the command or file you want the 'man' for), gunzips it, runs it through nroff for formatting and pipes it to 'less'. 'less' provides the scroll-up/scroll-down feature and when you exit, you exit 'less'. And that needs q to quit. I don't know where this came from:
    Code:
    cd /usr/share/man && (echo ".pl 11i"; /usr/bin/gunzip -c '/usr/share/man/man8/iptables.8.gz') | /usr/bin/gtbl | /usr/bin/nroff -c --legacy ISO-8859-1 -mandoc 2>/dev/null | /usr/bin/less -is
    It's like watching 'em make sausage.
    /IMHO
    //got nothin'
    ///this use to look better
